SUMMER RERUN: Natural Dyes
Fazia Rizvi

It's summertime and, while we officially still have a program night in July (and none in August), lots of guild members are traveling or at Convergence. So we're making summertime reruns a thing, digging into past presentations and dusting them off to give those who haven't seen them before a second chance. We'll still have plenty of time for visiting with each other and sharing any show and tell items you might have.
In this rerun presentation, Fazia will again talk about how she went from uninterested in dyeing fiber to a fan of natural dyes, with an update on where she is now in that exploration. This is a great intro to the upcoming dye study groups for fall and next spring.
Fazia is an actor and web developer with more than thirty years experience in information technology in higher education. Her multicultural family background (Finland, India/Pakistan) and B.A. in anthropology is what inspires her weaving, spinning, and dyeing craft as well as her obsession with vanishing tools and techniques. She currently serves as Vice President and Program Chair for the Weavers and Spinners Society of Austin.
